Jesus (pbuh) is not God but a Messenger of God - Dr Zakir Naik

RMNS-10

But I have mentioned there that Islam is the only non-Christian faith which makes an article of faith to believe in Jesus Christ pbuh, we believe that he was one of the mightiest messengers of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala). We believe that he was the Messiah translated Christ. We believe that he was born miraculously without any male interventions which many modern day Christians do not believe. We believe that he gave life to the dead with God’s permission. We believe that he healed those born blind and lepers with God’s permission. The Christians and the Muslims, we are going together. But one may ask that where is the parting of ways? The parting of ways is there are many Christians who say that Jesus Christ (pbuh), he claimed divinity, he said that he was All Mighty God. In fact if you read the Bible there is not a single unequivocal statement in the complete Bible, there is not a single unambiguous statement in the complete Bible where Jesus Christ pbuh himself says that I am God or where he says worship me. I am a student of Islam and comparative religion and I read the Bible, there is not a single unequivocal statement, not a single unambiguous statement in the complete Bible where Jesus Christ pbuh himself says that I am God or where he says worship me.

In fact if you read the Bible Jesus Christ (pbuh) himself said, it’s mentioned in the

Gospel of John Ch. no. 14 verse no. 28, Jesus Christ pbuh himself said that “My Father is greater than I.”

Gospel of John Ch no. 10 verse no. 29 “My Father is greater than all.”

Gospel of Mathew Ch. No. 12 verse no. 28 “I cast out Devil with the sprit of God.”

Gospel of Luke Ch no. 11 verse no. 20 “I with the Finger of God I cast out Devil.”

Gospel of John Ch. No. 5 verse no. 30 “I can of my own self do nothing, as I hear I judge and my judgment is just for I seek not my will but the will of thy.”

Anyone who says I seek not my will but the will of All Mighty God, he is a Muslim. Jesus Christ (pbuh) was a Muslim.

And its clearly mentioned in the Book of Acts ch. no. 2 verse no. 22 that

“Ye men of Israel, listen to this, Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God amongst you by wonders and miracles which God did by him and you were witnessed to it.”

A man approved of God amongst you by wonders and signs and miracles which God did by him and you were witnessed to it. So if we read their scriptures we can prove from their scripture that Jesus Christ pbuh, he never claimed divinity. He was the messenger of All Mighty God, we can prove from the Bible about the coming, about the advent, about the prophesy of the last and final messenger Prophet Muhammad (saws), you can give a talk on that.

Its mentioned in the old testament, in the book of Deuteronomy ch. no. 18 verse no. 18, in the Book Isaiah ch. no. 29 verse no. 12, in the Song of Solomon ch. no. 5 verse no. 16, in the New Testament in the Gospel of John ch. no. 14 verse no. 16, in the Gospel of John ch. no. 15 verse no. 26, in the Gospel of John ch. no. 16 verse no. 7, in the Gospel of John ch. no. 16 verse no. 12 to 14,

You can only go on giving references from the Bible where the prophesy of Muhammad (saws) is mentioned.

Time doesn’t permit us to talk about these aspects, you can refer to my video cassette on ‘Similarities between Islam and Christianity’ or ‘Muhammad (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) in the Bible’.
