Quran does not forbid Muslims from being friends with non-Muslims, as long as they are not aggressive towards Muslims or trying to expel them from their land. Islam only forbids Muslims to follow non-Muslim’s religious culture & tradition and mix up with them without securing their Muslim identity. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) himself had a close relationship with his non-Muslim uncle, Abu Talib.

Muslims should be respectful of their non-Muslim neighbors and family members, and treat them justly. It is important to show love and affection to non-Muslims considering them human like us, even if they do not share our beliefs. We should all strive to build bridges of understanding and cooperation with non-Muslims, and remember that we are all part of the same human family. Islam encourages Muslims to have positive relationships with non-Muslims, based on mutual respect and compassion.

Islam advocates for civility and respect towards people who adhere to different religions. Muslims are permitted to establish amicable relations with non-Muslims and collaborate with them in various affairs. Furthermore, in any circumstance where they encounter them, whether they are their neighbours, or they reside in a Muslim country, or they have to engage with them, they are obliged to demonstrate kindness and benevolence and satisfy their rights and needs. This is the core of Islam as it promotes peaceful and harmonious coexistence with people of any other creed.
